As they continue to expand their operations, we are seeking a skilled and experienced QHSE Officer to join our client’s team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for safety, quality, and continuous improvement to make a significant impact on our client’s organization.

The position offers a 4-day workweek, Monday to Thursday, with working hours from 07:45 to 17:30, and a competitive salary ranging between £33,000 and £35,000 per year, depending on experience.

**Role and Responsibilities**:
As QHSE Officer, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the QHSE department, with a specific focus on sheet metal fabrication processes. Your key duties will include:

- Coordinate & manage all aspects of the QHSE department: Oversee and implement effective Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental practices throughout the organization.
- Control the audit process and system requirements: Ensure compliance with applicable ISO standards and collaborate with governing bodies to ensure conformance.
- Ensure products conform to drawings and specifications: Ensure that our engineering design aligns with the required quality standards.
- Ensure production techniques meet required standards: Implement measures to efficiently produce high-quality products.
- Appraise vendors on a regular basis: Implement a scoring system and document results for QHSE audits.
- Take on responsibility for the QHSE department: Ensure the department has adequate equipment and resources to perform its functions effectively.
- Report to the Managing Director on QHSE functions: Provide regular updates on safety, quality, and environmental performance.
- Take responsibility for warranty returns: Collaborate with Customer Service to address and resolve warranty-related issues.
- Manage NCRs, 8D's & SOR's process: Ensure efficient handling and closure of non-conformance reports and related actions.
- Support NPI activities: Facilitate the seamless integration of new products into the QHSE framework.
- Carry out internal audits: Regularly assess QHSE practices to identify areas for improvement.
- Support all areas to achieve agreed KPIs: Collaborate with various teams to meet key performance indicators.
- Support all improvement activity: Contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing QHSE practices.
- Conduct presentations and training: Promote a culture of QHSE improvement through effective communication.

**Additional Responsibilities**:
In addition to the key duties, you will be responsible for:

- Assisting in the development and implementation of new safe systems of work.
- Ensuring the integrity of machine guarding and safety control devices, adhering to work instructions and manufacturer's guidelines.
- Investigating and reporting accidents and dangerous occurrences promptly.
- Ensuring employees wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by safety procedures or workplace signage.
- Carrying out and recording risk assessments for activities within your department.
- Maintaining a safe working environment for all employees.

**Requirements**: To be successful in this role, you should have:

- Proven experience as a QHSE Officer, ideally within an engineering environment with sheet metal fabrication experience.
- Previous experience in Fabrication manufacturing.
- Good knowledge of Lean Six Sigma techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of QHSE regulations, ISO standards, and best practices.
- Strong understanding of QM systems and knowledge of APQP, FMEA, ISO9000, and ISO 14001.
- NEBOSH Certified.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Management system auditing experience.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving and reporting skills.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- A proactive approach to safety and continuous improvement.
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in QHSE are desirable.
