**Job summary**:
To deliver advanced Therapy assessment and treatment of patients and act as a source of expertise to fellow clinicians, Trust managers, Healthcare Professionals and other services internal and external to the Trust as required.

The post holder will be required to work effectively in collaboration with the full multidisciplinary team, including other health professionals to promote the development, planning and delivery of intervention programmes and training in the specialist clinical area. There will also be scope to support across the wider medical pathway, especially setting up and supporting the pre-operative process in differing clinical environments.

To undertake a lead role in planning, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating the therapy service for EPOC as well as the surgical and medical wards at Solihull

To undertake clinical audits and evaluation of evidence-based practice, initiating/participating in research within specialist area. To manage, supervise and appraise staff and students within the specialist area with a focus on the continual development and delivery of the Eat Drink Dress Move placement model.

The role will also support the maintenance and education associated with the respiratory on-call at Solihull including on-call rostering

**Person specification**:
**Qualifications**:
**Essential**:
standard of general education including English language and mathematics, A levels or equivalent
- Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy / Physiotherapy
- Registered with HCPC as an Occupational Therapist / Physiotherapist
- Evidence of relevant postgraduate training in specialist area

**Desirable**:

- Leadership training
- Postgraduate advanced accredited training within specialist area
- Registered Member of Royal College of Occupational Therapists

**Experience**:
**Essential**:

- Relevant postgraduate experience in specialist areas relevant to the post
- Experience of effective staff management and leadership
- Experience of students at clinical tutor and supervisor levels
- Experience of leading audit
- Experience of training staff groups at all levels
- Evidence of extensive experience of working with patients within the Surgical specialty Evidence of working effectively in partnership with others within multi-disciplinary teams and across agencies

**Desirable**:

- Experience of conducting or being involved in audit, implementing outcome measures and/or research in the specialist area

**Additional Criteria**:

- Participation in 7 day working
- Participation in the Respiratory on-call rota
