Abacus Vehicle Hire is a family run business with 2 branches and over 750 vehicles.

The Vehicle Rental Customer Service Representative is the brand ambassador for Abacus, aiming to provide the fastest, easiest, and most valued experience for our customers. You should be a natural problem solver with initiative and ambition, whilst displaying a friendly, outgoing, and calm manner, who enjoys a lively team environment whilst working well with others. You should be hungry for sales and passionate for vehicles, with a willingness to learn and maintain new skills.

Our opening hours are 07:30 - 17:30 Mon to Fri, 07:30 - 17:00 Sat and 08:00 to 10:30 Sun

**What do we need from you?**

To be successful in this position, you will need to demonstrate the following:

- Friendly, outgoing, professional demeanour with a flair for sales
- Excellent phone manner
- Excellent face to face communication skills
- Ability to work within a team and on your own
- Ability to work under pressure in a sometimes fast paced environment
- Ability to learn and retain new skills and information
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Computer literacy which includes skills in Microsoft Office
- A willingness to work behind and away from the desk
- Aged over 23 with a full UK manual driving license and the ability to drive HGV vehicles around the yard
- You will be working an average of 45.5 hours per week, including 1 in 3 weekends with a day off in lieu following.

**What do we want you to do?**

Your main duties will include:

- Advising customers of the best vehicle to meet their needs
- Calculating quotations for the customer
- Converting enquiries into rental sales
- Using internal systems to open and close rental agreements
- Processing and recording customer payments and ID checks
- Fleet management
- Handover and demonstration of the vehicle
- Receipt and damage checks of the vehicle
- Assisting with deliveries and collections of vehicles when required
- Assisting with valeting of vehicles if and when required
- Working closely and effectively with other departments and individuals

**What can you expect from us?**
- Excellent rates of pay - starting at £27,500 per annum
- Pay review after 6 months and then yearly
