**Strategic Children’s Commissioning Lead **_(Head of Service Level)_**

**Rate: £650 per day**

**Duration: 6 months +**

**Hybrid: Hybrid Working**

**Location: West Midlands**

**Level: Head of Service/Service Manager**

Our client is seeking to recruit a **Strategic Children’s Commissioning Lead **on an interim basis for at least the next six months.

This is a hybrid role which will see you working remotely and ideally onsite a couple of days a week. The daily rate is expected to be in the region of £650 per day and this is negotiable dependent on experience. The initial contract is for six months and there is a strong possibility that this will be extended.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to the Children’s Commissioning Team
- Work with the operational AD’s to develop the areas of focus with regard to Children and Families and Education provision for children and young people
- Develop and manage markets using knowledge of joint funding mechanisms
- Deputise for the Assistant Director when required
- Train and mentor colleagues, embed best practice and transfer knowledge and expertise

Essential Requirements
- Extensive working knowledge of Children’s Services
- Gravitas to instil confidence in senior stakeholders and colleagues
- Experience working at Senior Manager level in a public sector environment
- Experience of proven leadership within a commissioning function
