**1. BACKGROUND**

Cumbria Gateway is a not-for-profit organisation, operating various projects within Cumberland. This role is to work at our Gateway 4 Women project which is based in Workington. Gateway 4 Women offers support to women in a safe, welcoming, and women-only space. We support women with a range of vulnerabilities, including mental wellbeing, homelessness and housing related difficulties, those undergoing drug and alcohol rehabilitation, suffering domestic abuse, debt and money management, and social isolation, to name a few. We are open to all women - some may simply wish to come down for a chat and a cuppa and meet new people

Our aim is to encourage, enable and empower women to unlock their potential by accessing support, learning new skills, gaining qualifications, building confidence and self-esteem, developing social skills, and thus improve overall wellbeing. To do this, we offer a variety of support groups, workshops, 1-1 support, therapeutic activities, and education and training courses. We work closely with local agencies including Drug & Alcohol Services, Probation Services, Job Centre, and Citizens Advice Bureau, in order to be provide support in a holistic manner, bringing services into our Centres where possible, as opposed to signposting women out.

**2. MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB**

Provide support to all Gateway 4 Women clients and specifically act as Project Worker for our MOJ clients providing Housing, Finance, Benefits, Social Inclusion and General support to clients throughout 1-2-1 sessions and our Women’ First Program.

**3. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Act as primary support lead for MOJ clients
- Working closely with National Probation Service
- Meeting targets using bespoke systems.
- Assessing support needs of clients and creating actions plans for support.
- Provide housing, benefit, debt, emotional and general support to women in 1-2-1 appointments.
- Lead on specialist benefit claims for all MOJ clients
- Provide ongoing one to one practical and emotional support to all women on your caseload.
- Facilitate an 8-week Women’s First program.
- Manage time to respond to crisis situations within the Gateway 4 Women Centre
- To maintain accurate records of all women on caseload including referral details and support accessed to aid with end of grant reports and future funding opportunities.
- To attend regular staff meeting to help complete quarterly and end of grant reports.
- To complete case studies when required to be used for funding purposes.
- Reporting safeguarding concerns to Safeguarding lead.
- If required offering out of office support to ensure the safeguarding of clients
- Facilitating joint appointments within in the Centre, to ensure the clients is in a safe environment.

- To work within the Organisation's aims and objectives and Policies and Procedures
- To treat all people with dignity and respect
- To promote an environment free from bullying, harassment, and intimidation
- To take responsibility for own health and safety and report areas of risk to the Manager
- To work within Policies and Procedures to enable the Organisation to comply with all health and safety, safeguarding and any other statutory regulatory requirements.
- To attend and contribute at team meetings and multi-agency meetings.
- To be responsible for managing own workload to ensure the needs of the individuals who use the

service is met, taking the wider needs of the team into consideration.
- You will be expected to be flexible in the performance of duties and to undertake any other duties identified as appropriate to the post.

Training and Development
- To participate fully in all training and development required
- Attend and participate in supervision sessions and an annual personal review.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings.
- To contribute to the learning of other staff
