**Motor Claims Handler - Hybrid Role - Southampton**

**Full time position - 37 hours per week (Flexible work patterns available)**

**Working hours**:37 hours per week, flexible shifts Mon-Fri between 07:00 - 18:00 (No weekend work)

The Motor Claims Handler will provide administrative and operational support associated with insurance claims relating to Fleet Incidents throughout Saint-Gobain in the UK.

**Duties**:

- Assist in the processing of First Notification of Losses (FNOL) within set timescales
- Achieve statutory compliance relevant to your specific area of responsibility
- Negotiating liability and costs settlements with internal and external customers
- Ensure accident report forms are received from drivers / branches and accurately completed, within set timescales. Liaising with branch / transport managers and drivers.
- Confirm employees hold correct authority to operate specific vehicles / machinery. Reporting any infringements to the compliance team / senior management.
- Accurately maintain the FleetWave Database and all other relevant electronic records
- Manage enquiries from user departments and seek adequate resolutions where problems exist
- Follow functional procedures accurately and identify improvement opportunities

**Essential Requirements**:

- Good telephone and customer service skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to demonstrate attention to detail
- Ability to work on own initiative, as well as being a team player
- Ability to negotiate and agree case settlements
- Organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload
- Flexible with ability to deal with high volumes of throughput
- Able to work well in team environment
- PC literate - MS Office
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- Ability to handle confidential information

**Desirable Requirements**:

- Some experience of motor claim handling or related claims handling
- Basic working knowledge of insurance practices and processes
- Basic working knowledge of road traffic laws
