We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join Community CAMHS South team within Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
This post will be based within Nottingham City and covers Nottingham City, South County areas.
We have well-equipped therapy rooms, office space and support through managerial and clinical supervision. Professional links with other arts therapists and AHPs within CAMHS and the wider Trust are in place, and you would have opportunities to engage with these groups for networking and CPD.
To provide specialised creative clinical input to CAMHS Community work utilising art, music or drama psychotherapy, working as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team and linking with the wider CAMHS Service. The post holder will work jointly with colleagues from all disciplines advising on, or providing, Arts Psychotherapy interventions.
The Arts Psychotherapist will be expected to work across both areas within Community CAMHS South providing both group and individual sessions to young people determined through a process of assessment.
You will work with a large MDT who collectively contribute to the assessment and treatment process for all young people. There is an expectation for attendance at complex case discussions and post assessment meetings.

Providing and receiving highly complex, sensitive or contentious information
Excellent communication skills with patients, their families (of choice), peers and others
Caring and emphatic approach with well-developed motivational/persuasive skills
Advises the inpatient service manager on any profession-specific issues or developments that may impact on arts psychotherapy provision/wider service.
Provides professional leadership on Arts Psychotherapy.
Ensures that the services provided are delivered in a culturally competent manner within Arts Psychotherapy.
To plan and provide an arts psychotherapy service for the Relevant CAMHS Team.
To receive and assess referrals for treatment appropriate to Arts Psychotherapy from the Relevant CAMHS Team.
To carry out assessments and provide arts psychotherapy for individuals and groups, for children, adolescents and their familieswith complex, severe and enduring mental health problems and to regularly evaluate the therapy. This will include the responsibility for prioritising treatment based on the relevant CAMHS Team criteria, to deliver an effective and equitable service, within available resources, and liaison with other arts psychotherapists in CAMHS in order to provide a wider range of arts psychotherapies, if appropriate.
To provide specialist ArtsPsychotherapy individual and/or group sessions using advanced levels of skill, as the primary intervention, or as part of patients’ treatment programmes. To create and develop specific Arts Psychotherapies practices relevant to this area of practice including attachment, communication and development disorders, and childhood trauma, mood and behavioural disorders.
To adapt and deliver models of Arts Psychotherapy practice congruent with the treatment approach of patients’ specific care plans, and team philosophy.
To plan and organise training and education for students and staff and be part of the induction of others re the Arts Psychotherapies.
To work as an autonomous practitioner and as a member of a Multidisciplinary Team.
To provide consultation, clinical and reflective supervision for other practitioners, therapists and students where appropriate and clinical supervision to members of other professions as and when required.
Manages budget for maintaining arts psychotherapy service and other use of arts equipment & materials by MDT
Manages safety overview of materials and equipment under control of the arts psychotherapist.
Implements policies and procedures or changes to working practices for own work area.
