**Job summary**:
This role is within Service Delivery Directorate, Scotland Field Delivery working with the GB Finance & Business Support Unit providing support to Business Managers.

This role provides an exciting opportunity to join the Scotland Finance team who give financial and budget management support to Scotland Field Delivery within APHA.

The Business Managers work closely with Budget Holders and their cost centre managers to develop relationships for robust budget and management information support. This role supports the Business Managers.

You will have an aptitude for numbers, communicating management information effectively to enable effective decisions, provide continuous improvement and respond well to emerging issues.

You’ll have the support from Business Managers who strive to provide excellent customer service to Budget Holders, Finance Business Partners and the wider business, providing accurate and useful data in which to make sound financial decisions.

Support and Training

**Job description**:

- Leading an admin team to deliver targets in line with regional commitments, accurately and effectively.
- To be responsible for embedding new admin processes and procedures and managing your team and their work through periods of change.
- To be responsible for the performance management of the team and will work collaboratively and supportively with your colleagues and peers.
- To provide support to the Business Manager with responsibility for the management of the Operational Business unit budgets, ensuring robust and transparent financial management.
- To assist the Business Manager in the forecasting of the expenditure and income by analysing the current financial position and investigating variances and incorrect entries. Raising any risks and issues regarding expenditure and income.
- Ensure that all approvals are completed effectively and efficiently, following procurement rules.
- To participate in the planning for the appropriate delivery of finance and risk activities within the Scotland Field Delivery leading on specific projects and audits, as and when required.
- To complete returns for year-end financial assurance and Corporate Governance. Ensure quality control of processes.
- To be resilient and able to respond to any business continuity or disease outbreak situation
