**STATUS OF POSITION**: FIXED TERM for 12 months

**HOURS**: 31.25hrs PER WEEK TERM TIME ONLY

Blackrod Primary School is a popular school with caring and hard-working staff, and well-behaved friendly children. The Headteacher and governors wish to appoint a dynamic and committed individual to support learning and development of children across the school.

Applicants will need to:

- Experience of working in a primary school setting
- Have a knowledge of the National Curriculum
- Work collaboratively as part of a Key Stage team supporting the needs of the children
- Help to keep children safe, including maintaining a safe environment, dealing with accidents, supporting safeguarding.
- Develop and promote positive relationships with children, adults and other practitioners
- Reflect on and develop practice
- Use information and communication technology to support pupils’ learning
- Contribute to the planning, delivery and evaluation of teaching and learning activities under the direction of the teacher, including covering for short-term teacher absence
- Support the implementation of the curriculum
- Observe and promote pupil performance and development
- Contribute to assessment for learning
- Prepare and maintain the learning environment
- Promote children’s wellbeing and resilience
- Support children with SEND, additional needs or working below the expected standards of the National Curriculum
- Will hold a NVQ Level 2, BTEC Level 2 or equivalent in Teaching Assistant or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
- Undertake Designated Safeguarding Training.
- Support the SENDCO /DSL in identifying children who need extra help to overcome barriers to learning.
- Under the guidance of the SENDCO/DSL maintain regular contact with families and carers of children who need extra support.
- Undertake supervision during lunchtimes implementing play activities
- Attend LAC/PEP meetings when required by the SENDCO.
