**This internship is only open to current University of Edinburgh PG students who will be based in the UK for the duration of the internship.**

We are looking for a skilled writer to support the Edinburgh Futures Institute (EFI) Research team to highlight examples of research activities and promote our successes on our website and social media.

**The Opportunity**:
This post supports the EFI Research team which aims at enabling interdisciplinary research across all areas of the University of Edinburgh, encouraging collaboration between the arts, humanities and the social sciences with data science, engineering, the natural sciences and medicine.
- Write compelling stories and narratives that highlight EFI’s ambition to produce research outputs with meaningful, sustained and measurable impact in society;
- Organise short interviews with project leads and stakeholders, draft structured content and edit and agree final drafts;
- Develop and pitch new content ideas and gain valuable communications/marketing content experience;
- Support the EFI Communications Team with copy/content writing, editing and layout, image selection, web publishing and comms planning.

- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with a range of stakeholders, with strong written English language skills
- A self-motivated and enthusiastic team player with the ability to work independently
- A creative approach to problem-solving, with the ability to identify the best way to approach a task
- Ability to conduct online research, synthesise information and summarise findings in a clear and concise format for a lay audience

The University will employ full-time PG students for no more than an average of 9 hours per week across the academic year (as per its policy ), and you must make sure any employment complies with any visa or funding conditions you may have.
