**Pay Rate** £499 per day UMB

**Hours** 36 Hours a week (Mon-Fri)

**Duration** 6 Month Contract - possible extension

Croydon holds a wealth of data across multiple systems and has invested resources in a number of innovative projects as part of a 'Business Intelligence' programme which has brought together datasets from multiple sources to offer new insights into our customer, demands and costs. These insights are being used by services to refocus delivery and they are already delivering significant business benefits.

The BI Platform is Microsoft Azure hosted, using the following services: Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake and Azure SQL Database and Azure Analysis Services, with Power BI for visualisation, insight and analytics.

As a focused piece of work to move to Power BI use across the Children, Young People, & Education (CYPE) Directorate, we are looking to employ a BI Data Engineer to not only manage the data but to model it for the Directorate. The role will work with colleagues in the CYPE Directorate, as well as Corporate Performance colleagues.

The CYPE Directorate is focused on delivering key data insights to support effective decision making and resources allocation, and the move to develop a robust data model and Power BI is key to delivering this. As such you will
- bring proficient technical skills including SQL, dimensional modelling, Azure BI Services, Master Data Management (MDM)
- understand the structure of data in both source systems and the Business Intelligence Platform
- implement best techniques for extracting data from source systems and loading data into the Business Intelligence environment
- transform data, working with Subject Matter Experts, ready for analysis and reporting
- design, document and implement logical and physical data models including corporate data sets
- monitor data being added to ensure efficient performance, reliability, availability and recoverability and administer user access for Azure BI Platform
- develop innovative data visualisations and dashboards, which meet the business needs, using Microsoft Power BI
- Ideally have experience of working with Liquid Logic

**Preferred experience and skill set**

1. SQL, dimensional modelling, Azure BI Services, Master Data Management (MDM)

2. Understand the structure of data in both Children's Case Management Systems and the Business Intelligence Platform

3. Design, document and implement logical and physical data models
