Alpaca Stockman

**This is a full time (5 days per week) role**

**THE COMPANY**
- A market leading, family owned company at the forefront of black alpaca breeding in Europe. With 30 years’ experience in the alpaca sector and state of the art production facilities, Inca Alpaca is an innovative and professional livestock stud farm with a herd of 300 pedigree alpacas who sell breeding stock in the UK, throughout Europe and the Middle East.

**THE ROLE**
- As Stockman/stockwoman you will be responsible for the day to day attention of the herd and to ensure that all related tasks are carried out to the highest standards and with integrity at all times. We are offering a full time position with work days being Mon to Fri with the occasional weekend being required. The position also requires occasional travelling which can involve an overnight stay away.

**RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES - STOCKMAN/STOCKWOMAN**
- Ensure that the stock is fed and checked in a timely manner each day.
- Assist with customer visits and ensure they experience a warm welcome.
- Manage the main barn and equipment area and keep in an orderly and tidy state.
- Monitor growth and performance of the stock and record findings.
- Manage the stock feeding regime and adjust as required.
- Provide support to the general manager with customer visits and while off farm.
- Ensure the company database is constantly supplied with current and accurate records.
- Oversee the maintenance of the fields in relation to fencing and grass management.
- Carryout scheduled breedings and assist with births.
- Assist with ground maintenance, grass cutting and gardening. *Ensure that the office, medical room and indoor facilities are keep clean and tidy.

**EXPERIENCE REQUIRED** **- STOCKMAN/STOCKWOMAN**
- Good interpersonal skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Basic IT competency
- Some livestock experience
- Demonstrate high standards of personal conduct and the ability to work alone
- Value and respect colleagues and visitors
- Work with others to develop and improve farm operations and our services
- Hold a driving licence
- Good tractor driving skills would be an advantage.

**Salary**: £22,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
