This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic person to support the Digital Forensic Unit, a constantly evolving area of policing that works to safeguard some of our most vulnerable communities by providing expert evidence on digital elements of an investigation.
You will work closely with the diverse staff within the Digital Forensics Unit and, amongst other activities will be involved in:
- Requesting and managing the movement of evidential property
- Conducting regular audits of equipment and property
- Liaising with internal and external partners
- Acting as the first point of contact for queries relating to digital work
- Working within a ISO/IEC 17025:2017 controlled environment
The apprenticeship includes completion of the requirements of a Level 3 apprenticeship qualification in Business & Administration.

Please note to be eligible for the SWP Apprenticeship Programme you must:
- Have a good standard of education to at least GCSE A-C grade, including Maths and English, or be able to demonstrate equivalent skills and abilities.
- Be a British Citizen, citizen from the European Economic Area (EEA), Commonwealth citizen or foreign national with no restrictions on your stay in the United Kingdom.
- Not have previously completed an apprenticeship, internship, or graduate programme with South Wales Police.
This role is not suitable for part time/job share workers due to operational requirements.
