Junior Buyer Impulse

We now have an exciting opportunity for a **Junior Buyer** to join our **High Street Impulse** team at our Support Centre in **Swindon.**

The main purpose of this role is to determine the customer offer and manage the trading plan across multiple categories. The role requires an organised individual, capable of managing complex information and ensuring the range is the correct balance of product that meets sales, margin and profit objectives.

**What you will be doing**

Trading responsibility for particular categories within the Impulse trading team

Selecting and developing profitable new products and ranges that are commercially viable and meet our customers’ needs

Generating new ideas on how to grow YOY Sales, margin and income, and meet annual budget targets

Building up strong relationships with suppliers to deliver effective and profitable plans

Working closely with the supply chain teams to ensure in store availability is optimised

Ability to deliver meaningful reports and cut through the information / detail to get to the real issue

Keeping abreast of market trends and competitor activity, to help identify new opportunities as well as changes to our existing offering

**What we are looking for**

Previous experience within a retail/FMCG Buying role

You will be astute to commercial opportunities with the ability to understand and interpret marketing information

You will have strong negotiation skills with a track record of achieving continuous margin improvement/supplier income

Someone with a creative thought process - on product, promotions, displays etc

Excellent numerical capability with the ability to analyse and present data
