**Estates Surveyor**

**Job Purpose**
- The purpose of this post is to assist in the provision of property services to the Client. The postholder will act as a member of the Estates’ team. As such, her/his performance will meet the standards which the executive action of the team will have toachieve.
- S/he will take a high degree of personal responsibility for carrying out difficult and challenging tasks as an Estates Surveyor providing general practice surveyor/valuer duties.
- As a member of the team S/he will contribute to the general management, development and review of the Team and Unit. This will be done both in terms of services provided and staff, in accordance with the Council’s Visions and Values, policy and other objectives.In so doing the postholder should ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency.

**Person Specification**

**Essential**
- Qualified (RICS) with relevant post qualification experience.
- Excellent knowledge of Landlord & Tenant principles and Practice.
- Good knowledge of valuation principles and practice.
- Experience of management of a diverse property portfolio including rent reviews and lease renewals.
- The ability and flexibility to work across and support a wide-range of services within the Council and the ability to work with other partner or commissioned organisations.
- Well-developed negotiating skills.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Highly numerate, with the proven ability to understand, analyse, interpret and explain complicated information and data Some training and/or experience or ability to supervise and guide junior staff in providing services to specified quality, timescaleand budget.
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and an ability to manipulate data in excel to produce relevant management information.

**Desirable**
- Commercial awareness.
- Graduate and/or membership of appropriate professional body.

**Rate Of Pay**

PAYE: £375

Umbrella/Ltd: £474.19
