Wokingham, United Kingdom Asend Limited Full time

What ASEND Tuition Is

We are looking for inspirational tutors in London to support children and young people with SEND. Many children with SEND have been disengaged with their learning. We support pupils that have struggled to stay in the classroom, who feel too anxious to goto school or whose needs aren’t sufficiently supported at school. We tutor children face to face in a range of settings including homes, schools, and community centres.

You may be an experienced tutor or teacher or have experience of working with children in a therapeutic way. One of your aims will be to support a child at home and re-engage them in their learning, continue their educational development and return to school.ASEND tuition is replacing school for these young people and is normally part-time, taking place during school hours, five days a week.

Our pupils have a range of individual interests, needs and abilities, and we work very hard to match the tutor with the child who can most benefit from their skills and expertise.

About our Young Person

We are looking for a tutor to support a creative, loyal and sensitive teenager in Wokingham. They are academically strong, but are held back from making the most of their opportunities. They enjoy the Arts including Performing Arts and drawing and paintingand are ambitious about directing in theatre.

They would benefit from the support of a nurturing and patient tutor, and can teach a student to a high level. This is a hugely rewarding opportunity to really make a difference to the life of this young person.

Who are we looking for?
- Have some experience with SEN; many of our students require someone with experience in working with people who have Autism, ADHD, or Emotional and Mental Health difficulties
- Have experience working with Looked After or Vulnerable children
- Be passionate about helping pupils overcome any barriers to learning and difficulties with engagement
- Be able to build a rapport and strong relationship with children and their families and with colleagues
- Use a person-centred approach and make the wellbeing, achievement, and progress of your pupils central to everything that they plan and do

At ASEND you will always be well supported by our highly qualified and experienced team and well-remunerated for your work.

About ASEND

ASEND is a highly specialist SEND business, placing dedicated SEND professionals in school and services throughout the UK.

Since being established in 2011, ASEND has emerged amongst the forefront of leading SEND businesses and have successfully placed professionals into different schools, colleges and services across the country. Pioneers across the sector, we have helped toinstitute a unique and fresh approach to the teaching and learning of SEND pupils, many of whom have seen remarkable progress.

In 2019 we were asked to support our first pupil at their home because the school felt they couldn’t meet his needs any further and they stopped attending. That pupil then successfully transitioned into a new school place and we were asked to support anotheryoung person. Over the next three years we have supported children and young people across numerous London Boroughs, Local Authorities just outside London and various schools. Many of whom made it into a new school or return to their school with the supportof our bespoke tutoring service.

We see ourselves as a SEND company rather than a recruitment agency. Meaning that we do more than just staffing for SEN education. Our Directors all have a unique understanding of SEND and between them share a wealth of knowledge and experience unparalleledin the field. Our team all have a passion for helping young people with SEN overcome barriers and progress. Your experience with us and our young people will therefore feel very different to what you may normally expect as a result.

**Benefits**:

- Generous and competitive rates of pay
- Opportunities for professional development
- Friendly support and guidance to enable you to meet the individual needs of learners and to ensure that you feel confident in your position
