**Job Description - **_**Kitchen Support Worker**_
- **Accountable to**:_ Chair of Trustees Committee
- **Purpose of role**:_To develop the new key initiatives for the Community Centre
- **Context**:_The Kitchen Support Worker role will complement the Supervisor and the volunteers

Hours of work per week - 20 hours (can be flexible)
- **Key Responsibilities**:_
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to furthering the success of the Centre.
- To develop new service initiatives for all food services.
- Maintain a neat and clean appearance - Must wear clothes, headwear and shoes appropriate to working in a kitchen.
- Maintain and operate the kitchen and cafe in a clean, sanitary and safe manner, which shall include ensuring regular monitoring of cleanliness of the kitchen and the kitchen supplies/utensils.
- Ensure that the Environmental health file, cleaning and temperature sheets are always completed, and the information is correct and up to date.
- Ensure that planned meals are nutritiously balanced and healthy, and the meals shall regularly include salads and prepared fresh vegetables.
- All weekly menus to be the same standard using the same ingredients each time they are prepared.
- To comply with current guidelines regarding salt and sugar levels and to accommodate with allergies or specific dietary requirements.
- Catering for the Luncheon Club on a weekly basis
- Catering for the Café on a weekly basis
- Catering for events - to take bookings
- Liaise with the Luncheon Club clients for any requirements they may have, whilst engaging with them socially.
- Diligently check and store food and supplies that are delivered to the Community Centre.
- Properly store food in accordance to food and hygiene safety regulations.
- Properly care for food supplies and leftovers.
- Ensure waste is organised and placed correctly in accordance to waste company guidelines.
- Administer the catering booking procedures for events.
- Provide regular progress reports to the Board.
- Other duties the trustees feel appropriate to the post.
- Covering shifts for kitchen employees will also be expected to make sure daily services are supported.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 20 per week

**Salary**: £10.45 per hour

Schedule:

- Every weekend
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Carmarthenshire: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Chef: 1 year (preferred)
- Cooking: 2 years (required)
- Kitchen experience: 2 years (required)

Shift availability:

- Day shift (required)
