Welfare Officer

Defence Medical Welfare Service (DMWS) is seeking a confident, self-starter Welfare Officer to join the team in Scotland at BGH, NHS Borders, to support the wider military community (both veteran and serving).

We are looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills, able to work as part of a team both internally and externally, is compassionate and passionate about supporting the Armed Forces Community and like to make real difference within the military community. You initial based will be Borders General Hospital on the outskirts of Melrose, part of NHS Borders.

Working as part of a team you will be supporting the military and their family’s community both in hospital or in the community (inpatient and outpatient). All DMWS Welfare Officers need to be mobile and willing to work flexibly to meet job demands.
