Job Title: Assistant HR Officer
Location: Initially based in Hertford, but will transition to be based in Stevenage within the next year
Starting Salary: £21,575 with the opportunity to progress to £24,054 - Pay increase pending
Hours: 37 per week
Contract: Permanent

This is an exciting opportunity to join the HR Transactions & Payroll Team as an Assistant HR Officer supporting the delivery of a consistent, high quality payroll service to Hertfordshire County Council and several other clients.

Purpose of Role:
This role forms part of an experienced, dedicated team, who work in a fast-paced environment and are dedicated to delivering the payroll service to approximately 32,000 employees across various companies.

Challenges and Opportunities:
The duties of the role will involve processing timesheets, mileage claim forms, pension opt in and opt out forms, and tax forms, producing references, letters, SSP1 forms and taking phone calls.

Technical Skills:
Technical, skills and qualifications needed for the role include:

- Excellent Administrative skills with attention to detail
- Ability to organise and prioritise your own workload
- Good communication skills
- Good keyboard and data entry skills
- Knowledge of local government terms and conditions would be an advantage.

This Job is a good opportunity to gain knowledge in Payroll & HR which could lead to a great role in HCC.
