We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Credit Controller to join a finance team based in Wakefield. **Key Responsibilities**:
- **Credit Control Support**: Assist in the management of the firm's credit control function, including monitoring client accounts, chasing outstanding invoices, and resolving payment queries.
- **Client Communication**: Build positive relationships with clients, providing courteous and professional assistance in resolving payment issues, negotiating payment plans, and facilitating timely payments.
- **Billing Assistance**: Collaborate with colleagues to ensure accurate and timely billing, supporting the billing process, and addressing any billing-related queries from clients.
- **Debt Monitoring**: Monitor aged debt reports and proactively identify overdue accounts, escalating cases as necessary and maintaining accurate records of communications and actions taken.
- **Process Improvement**: Contribute ideas and suggestions for improving credit control processes, procedures, and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- **Reporting and Analysis**: Assist in the preparation of regular reports on debtors' aging, collection performance, and key metrics, providing insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
- **Training and Development**: Take advantage of training opportunities and mentorship to enhance your skills and knowledge in credit management and advance your career within the firm.
**Qualifications and Skills**:
- Previous experience in a finance or administrative role, with exposure to credit control preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently and professionally with clients and colleagues.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
- Proactive attitude and willingness to learn, with a desire to take on increasing responsibilities and grow within the role.
- Basic understanding of financial principles and accounting concepts, with the ability to analyze data and identify trends.
