About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and versatile person to join the team within Cambridge City. As well as the Central Library, this includes the libraries at Arbury Court, Barnwell Road, Cherry Hinton, Milton Road and Rock Road. We also plan to open a new library next year in Darwin green.

Interviews will be held on Wednesday 7th June at Central Library, Cambridge

What will you be doing?
You will be enthusiastic about what public libraries can offer, and able to promote and deliver our services.

Although there is plenty of routine work, there is also scope to be innovative. Training will be given on specific library systems, but an ability to work with IT is essential.

Day to day tasks could include:

- supervising the library space
- dealing with property issues
- cash handling
- planning events
- venue management
- recruiting and supervising volunteers
- delivering the visa biometrics service
- delivering a story or rhyme time

About you

Please think carefully about the following criteria and provide practical examples of how and when you have used the particular knowledge, skill or experience:

- Demonstrate your understanding and delivery of good customer service
- A full account of your IT skills
- Passion for working in your local community
- A strong team player, able to work with colleagues on projects and contribute to team goals
- How to generate team spirit in a lone working environment.
