OBM have an opportunity for a skilled Forklift Operator on a minimum 4 - 6 month contract basis for our energy, oil and gas service client based in Altens, Aberdeen.
**Job Purpose**

The role of the Forklift Operator is to assist in the loading and unloading of materials, and any other forklift operations whilst complying with company HSEQ safe working practices and completing associated documentation.

**Roles & Responsibilities**:

- Operate forklift as and where required in compliance with company HSEQ safe
- working practice, Global Operating Procedure, Global Lifting Procedure and manufacturer’s advised guidelines
- Conduct daily checks and complete associated compliance documentation
- Assist fitter as and when required in the maintenance of the forklift
- Liaise with all departments within the base and assist in other areas as per operational requirements
- Visual inspection of cargo prior to lifting to identify and report all snagging hazards, loose objects and non-compliant cargo
- Safely load/offload materials.
- Attend and contribute to monthly safety meetings
- Regularly review procedures, work aids and risk assessments
- Conduct Live Safe Interventions (LSI) and record for inclusion on Base Scorecard
- Ensure the correct use of Forklifts and Lifting equipment as set out in legislative and procedural policy; If authorised to carry out lifting activities (Forklift)
- Ad-hoc duties as required in line with applicable training/competency assessments undertaken

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- 16 Tonne Forklift with Pipe Clamps
- 16 Tonne Forklift Rotator
- 5 Tonne Combi lift Forklift with Pipe Clamps
- 5 Tonne Counter-balance Forklift

**HSEQ**:

- In partnership with the HSE department, ensure the continuous improvement of safety and environmental performance and compliance to all laws, regulations, and industry standards/codes.
- Reports all incidents or breaches of policy or regulations to the line manager.
- Fully endorse the companies ‘Stop the Job’ policy and commitment to proactive intervention where an unsafe act or condition is observed.
- Adherence to the companies integrated management system ensuring document control and improvements to key processes is maintained.
