**Job Purpose**:
As a Security Architect, you will be responsible for designing end-to-end market-leading security solutions which impact the lives of users nationwide. Reporting to the Solutions Architecture Lead, you will work with customers and internal stakeholders todesign security solutions for our customers, provide design review and assurance for all solutions from a security viewpoint, advise on the effort, technical and commercial implications of your designs.

The Security Architect is also a leader of the Security centre of excellence, so you will work with your peers and external partners to understand how new technologies and market trends can be leveraged to deliver positive outcomes for our clients and helpto develop and implement best-practice security architecture, standards and guidelines. You will also be willing to share knowledge and mentor those around you.

The role requires a broad range of knowledge spanning Applications, Data, Technology, Security, Service and Commercial influences, to help develop integrated solutions spanning hybrid (data centre and cloud) environments and influence a customer’s technologyand cyber security strategy. It is also critical to have the ability to communicate ideas to disparate stakeholder communities using clear and concise language, including executive staff, business sponsors, and technical resources.

**Main duties and responsibilities**:

- Define, design and direct the implementation of security solutions.
- Create and manage a Centre for Excellence for security solutions, ensuring all of the solutions we design have security as a key consideration throughout.
- Manage the full end-to-end Product Lifecycle for our Security Operations Centre offering and other cyber security products.
- Set standards, policies and procedures for our Security Operations Centre.
- Provide security design assurance and oversight over the security components of all solutions we design and deliver.
- Operate in either a traditional or agile delivery mode, as and when required.
- Work with Pre-Sales, Enterprise Architects, Solutions Architects, Technical Architects, Technical Delivery and Account Management teams to ensure what is proposed meets our strategy and standards.
- Support new business development including developing the security elements of proposals and working on bids.
- Direct and coordinate security SME’s during the design, delivery and implementation phases of a programme or project.
- Support the project / programme manager/director in understanding the risks, dependencies, issues and constraints in relation to security, and the impact that these may have on the project / programme.
- Act as the Security SME in governance and assurance reviews

**Person Specification**

**Qualifications**
- Educated to degree level or with equivalent industry experience.

**Experience**
- Significant experience of designing and implementing security solutions.
- Experience in conducting design assurance review with a focus on security.
- Substantial experience of designing or managing a Security Operations Centre.
- Experience of enacting and undertaking governance and assurance activities.
- Experience of designing and implementing solutions as part of multi-stream change programmes.

**Skills & Abilities**
- Excellent prioritisation and time management skills, with the ability to work across several projects simultaneously.
- Able to undertake pre-sales solution development, including creating proposals and working on bids.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to communicate solution concepts clearly and concisely to a non-technical audience.

**Knowledge**
- Breadth of solution architecture knowledge spanning Applications, Data, Technology, Security and Service.
- Understands marketplace trends for products and innovation, and how to intercept these developments to add additional value and provide competitive differentiation.
