Yard Supervisor

This is a hands on position. The successful applicant will be a reliable self starter who has excellent organisational skills. This is a physical post with some heavy lifting required.

Reporting to the site Manager, you'll need to be someone who isn't afraid of hard work and is a team player. Previous experience working in a busy yard environment would be preferable as would the ability to drive a 7.5 ton vehicle. This post requires a great deal of flexibility and you would need to be willing to work under pressure to ensure that the yard, cremator hall and stores are in tip top condition in an efficient, safe and friendly manner. - 40 hrs per week worked over 5 days
- Usually Monday - Friday although occasional weekends may be required
- Usually 8am - 5.00 pm each day ( one hour unpaid lunch break)
- Oversee Health And safety in the yard and cremator hall
- Stores, ordering, storing and allocation
- Cremator maintenance, ensuring that adequate stock of spares are available, planning maintenance and reacting to breakdowns, keeping detailed records.
- Liaise with outside contractors working on plant and machinery
- Ensure Fork lift and other onsite machinery are safe and well maintained
- Submission of daily/weekly cremator stats
- Preparation and submission of cremator/fuel/burn records
- Training of new cremator staff
- Liaise with third parties regarding movement of waste from the site.
- Prepare paperwork for same
- Ensure the yard and garden are tidy and secure at all times
- Fire alarm testing and recording.
- Water temperature testing and recording
- Provide cover for crem ops when required
- Provide driver cover in exceptional circumstances.
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are trained out to crem ops and followed at all times.

**Salary**: £24,500.00 per year
