A fantastic opportunity has arisen with our Client, a leading UK provider of heat sealing solutions, for a Workshop/Service Engineer / Maintenance Engineer to work in a busy team within our Heat Sealing Technology division. The company’s capabilities includedesign, development and manufacturing. Based in Bedford, the company has been established for over 40 years, experiencing a healthy growth year upon year. Our Client is dynamic, fast paced, and engineering led, operating in a wide spread of markets includingmedical, battery, process, and food packaging. This role offers genuine potential to for progression in line with business growth.

The successful Maintenance Engineer / Service Engineer will carry out daily workshop duties, building bespoke machines and equipment. Carrying out installations of machines into customers premises, commissioning machines, operator & engineer training, breakdownassistance at customer premises and remote assistance to customers of heat-sealing components and equipment.

**This job role can be very varied between time spent in the workshop and time spent on site with customers depending on work requirements. Applicants must not expect a 100% service role.**

**Role and Responsibilities**
- Installing and commissioning bespoke machines, sub-assemblies and components into customer facilities
- Training operators and engineers for correct and safe operation of equipment
- Supporting customers remotely, attending site for breakdown, repair, service and support
- Auditing customer machines and premises
- Provide feedback to design engineers for improvements and modifications and any updates to drawings and instructions when changes are made.
- General workshop duties as required.
- Assembly and testing of heat-sealing components and assemblies
- Goods in inspection
- Goods out packaging and crating / palletising
- Assisting colleagues as required with their duties
- Collection and delivery of goods
- Receiving and directing incoming calls
- Producing assembly kits for production

**The role holder will be expected to**:

- Provide first class service and support to all heat-sealing customers
- Promote the company, services and products
- Adhere to defined processes and best practices wherever possible
- Work with all departments to ensure company and customer requirements are met
- Problem solve, promote development and implement change
- Actively contribute towards achieving Departmental and overall Company goals and objectives
- Work in accordance with the Company values
- Undertaking any such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope of the role
- On-Call where required.

**Qualifications and Education Requirements**
- GCSE’s - Level 6-9
- Certificate or Diploma in Electromechanical Engineering

**Preferred Skills**
- A background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and an understanding of both
- Good communication skills
- Motivated
- Adaptable
- Team player
- Willingness to complete jobs outside of the job role
