Catering Team Leader

**Rate of pay: £11.10 - £12.07 per hour (+weekend and public holiday enhancements) + company benefits**

Serco are recruiting for a Catering Team Leader to join their current team based at Forth Valley Royal Hospital, Larbert. The catering function is responsible for 850 beds in the ACUTE site plus 8 community sites with 24 wards.

Reporting to Patient Catering Manager and working closely with Head chef, the Catering Team Leader will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Patient Catering Department whilst maintaining a high standard, quality service for all patients, visitors and staff.

**Main Accountabilities**:
In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the department is well managed. You will ensure that all tasks are delegated and completed by catering assistants in a safe and hygienic manner, you will work closely with the Customer Support Housekeepers /team leaders regarding food orders and patients’ needs for any special dietary requirements and ensure all areas of compliance for Allergen Management/Food Safety are strictly followed.

You will be responsible for your own team within the department, this will include welfare meetings and follow up calls,** **encouraging and supporting staff with progression and personal development plans, ensuring all training, holiday entitlement and any mycatchups are kept up to date, ensuring that regular contact is kept with Absence Management, calls are done and RTW interviews are done for all staff and general manpower planning.

Lastly you will be responsible for ensuring the hand over diary is completed daily for effective communication within the department, support other areas within the department and Visit the community wards - offering training and support.

**What you’ll need to do the role**:
To be successful in this role you will have previous experience in a similar role, experience within a similar setting would be advantageous however not essential. You will be leading a team of people so you will be able to communicate effectively, delegate with confidence, be flexible and supportive, be a good team player and always maintain. a professional image. In addition to this, you will possess the following:

- Intermediate Food Hygiene Certification
- Knowledge of working with chemicals for cleaning / COSSH awareness
- Extensive knowledge of Allergens and Allergen Management
- Extensive knowledge of HACCP and its purpose and systems
