This is a rewarding role contributing to society, working with a friendly, supportive team offering flexible, part-time working with generous annual leave.A newly created position to move away from volunteers managing the finances, this would suit a qualifiedand experienced accountant looking to work part-time.

As Head of Finance, you will provide effective and collaborative financial support and leadership for the charity working across 4 separate business units.You will coordinate the annual budget setting process, produce monthly management accounts for thecharity and 4 entities, ensuring statutory compliance of finance activities and lead the audit process.You will also be responsible for compliance with charity commission law in the area of financial controls and management.

You will be supported in this role by the Finance & Operations manager who does day to day bookkeeping and payment of invoices etc.

Key tasks will include:

- ensuring good financial management is in place across the charity
- producing monthly management accounts and providing analysis and variance reports against budget
- prepare and monitor cashflow forecasts including analysis between restricted and unrestricted funds
- preparing the annual budget
- prepare the annual statutory accounts
- developing and maintaining robust financial systems that adhere to best practice
- streamlining and simplifying the accounting systems of the charity.

This post is part-time for 21 hours per week and provides flexible working hours.It requires an experienced, qualified accountant with practical experience of preparing budgets, producing monthly management accounts and preparing statutory accounts foraudit.

This role would suit someone taking a step back from corporate life or someone with previous charity experience.
