Strategic Buyer

GTS is currently recruiting for a Strategic Buyer for an Aerospace business in Farnborough.
Are you an experienced Aerospace Buyer looking for a chance to work for growing and successful business?
Do you have experience of purchasing electrical and mechanical parts, across global suppliers?
If so, this role is for you.
My client is looking for a dynamic and strategic buyer to support them across the commodities in the direct procurement for the business. This is a highly varied role, and will involve project management, as well as supporting the wider supply chain team.
You will be responsible for managing the suppliers across the commodity group, ensuring they support business objectives and meet KPI’s set out by the business. This is a highly strategic role, so you must be comfortable setting up and implementing strategiesacross all business units, ensuring that processes are driven through.
The day-to-day purchasing will also sit within your remit, identifying risk and negotiating best terms with existing and new suppliers.
**To be successful in this role you will already have experience working in Strategic Purchasing position, ideally within an Aerospace, Automotive or MOD background.**
You will also have the following skills and experience:

- Previous experience in managing supply chain solutions and strategically implementing processes and improvements to the supply chain.
- Experience in a lean manufacturing environment, knowledge of six sigma is beneficial.
- MCIPS or CIPS preferable.
- Knowledge of ITAR would be beneficial.
- Proactive and commercially aware, with strong communication skills.
- MS office literate, with experience of working on MRP/ERP systems.
