Urquhart Castle
Our Public Sector client, responsible for the running of a historic tourist attraction, has an immediate requirement for 2 Castle Stewards to join their team at Urquhart Castle. This is a 3 month contract to start in June 2023. You will work as part of the visitor centre and car park team at Urquhart Castle operating tills within the admission and retail areas and overseeing the car park.
No two days are the same, and we are looking for someone who will enjoy both the challenges and rewards of working at this historically important and inspiring monument.
Details of working days/hours are below:
Working hours - 09:05am to 18:05pm
Post 1 - 32 hours per week - working: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Sundays
Post 2 - 24 hours per week - working: Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays
Due to the location of this role, having your own transport is desirable. Urquhart Castle is approximately 15 miles outside Inverness on the banks of Loch Ness.

**Main duties would include**:

- Work as part of a team to ensure that the monument is properly presented to meet all our opening time commitments, functions and events, group bookings and specialist interest visits, as required.- Pro-active interaction with visitors to the site, assessing their individual needs and answering enquiries.- Ensure all areas of the visitor centre are presented and maintained to the high standard as outlined in the site checklists.- Operate tills within the retail and admissions areas of Urquhart Castle- Manage theatre queues and the operation of our film show- Keeping all designated parts of the car park clean and tidy.- Oversee the day to day operation of the car and coach park.- Ensure the smooth running of the car and coach by directing visitors, contractors and colleagues to their parking spaces.- Ensure that the health and safety of staff, visitors and contractors is paramount at all times.**Skills/Experience required**:

- Previous experience working in customer service- Excellent customer service skills- Strong communication skills- Excellent planning and organisational skills- Ability to work in a fast paced environment- Previous experience working in tourism - desirable
