**About the role**

As an Employment Law Solicitor for Moorepay you will represent our clients in Early Conciliation, Employment Tribunal and Employment Appeal Tribunal proceedings (including their Republic of Ireland equivalent). You’ll provide advice and legal opinion inrespect of Personnel & Employment Law issues, capable of imparting that opinion in a concise and client friendly manner.

You'll support advising complex/high risk cases, whilst ensuring standard cases able to be managed via the front line Advice Line where required/contracted are passed back with a good brief to ensure consistent and thorough management. You'll be responsiblefor identifying areas of CPD for front line Advisers via feedback from the Tribunal function/developments in law and support existing functions in the development and delivery of training and internal briefings to assist the Head of Employee Relations andAdvocacy to improve overall quality.

Key responsibilities:

- Liaison with clients & ACAS to resolve EC requests or assist in decision-making on engagement in EC. You'll be required to manage such issues in the context of best outcomes for clients and insurers (where relevant) including assessment of costs, awardsand exposure.
- Undertake all work associated with ET/EAT hearings as directed by the client and/or the business and supporting the internal insurance claims process by reviewing cases against advice & indemnity provisions.
- Provide advice & legal opinion on employment law issues and Tribunal proceedings to clients and colleagues from all departments.
- Identify quality issues from EC/ET/EAT and support the department in implementing continuous improvement within the HR Advice Line service.
- Support the management of complex/high risk cases which have the potential to lead to litigation or lengthy processes for clients. You will be required to identify such cases at the outset & ensure they are either managed within their team or assigned tofront line Advisors with a briefing on managing the case.
- Provision of one-to-one telephone advice to allocated high-value clients, including those assigned to our Employment Law Solicitor product.
- Provide advice to all clients contemplating taking a commercial approach to employment issues, including provision of guidance on costs, engagement in negotiations & drafting of standard and bespoke Settlement Agreements to achieve the desired client outcome.
- The role is not primarily on the inbound front line HR Advice Line and may include attendance at various Company/client sites (within a reasonable travelling distance) where required, with a focus on dealing with complex/high risk cases. However, the youwill be expected to deal with incoming calls for standard cases on the front line HR Advice Line during busy periods and peak times.
- Provide HR & Employment Law Advice to all clients within the remit of any and all Service Level Agreements that may exist.
- Ensure that accurate & relevant records of advice are maintained.

**Skills and experience required**
- Qualified Solicitor circa 3-5 years PQE, specialising in Employment Law Advice & Employment Tribunal Advocacy.
- Record of generating new business leads for a sales function (desirable).
- Experience leading a team (desirable).
- Good knowledge and practical experience of advising clients in all aspects of HR & Employment Law, especially on complex/high risk case files covering all work up to and including the EAT.
- Ability to work autonomously but as part of a wider team.
- Ability to influence at all levels.
- Highly self-motivated and driven.
- An excellent communicator, with strong verbal, written and listening skills.
- Strong Client facing skills and able to communicate and act at management level with a very credible presence.
- Comfortable to travel to London (as necessary) for any in-person hearings. This may involve over-night stays.
