The school is a mainstream primary school which caters to children of all abilities, learning disabilities and Special Education Needs. They are an inclusive school and believes every child has the right to an outstanding, well-rounded education.

Academics are looking for an aspiring speech and language therapist to take on the role of a Learning Support Assistant to support children with Autism, complex social needs and associated, challenging behaviour.

There are still lots of stereotypes and misconceptions about Autism and the cognitive impact it can have on speech and language, especially in relation to girls and how Autism may present differently.

In this role, you will work alongside boys and girls who will exhibit many different behaviours, from high functioning to lower/mix ability students. Empathy and patience are key characteristics to have for this aspiring speech and language therapist role.

This role is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who is an aspiring speech and language therapist. You will work first hand with students of mixed abilities and needs, working with a qualified and experienced speech and language therapist and SENCO. Thiswill give you an insight into the role of a speech and language therapist and the experience you will gain from this role is sure to stand to you as you progress in your career.

This role is for ASAP start. Short listed applicants will be required to complete a trial day in the school. The successful applicant can start the role as soon as possible.
