**Junior CAD Technician**who has experience using AutoCAD with working knowledge of 2D drafting is required for an Architectural Design Practice and Build Company based in Walton on Thames, Surrey.

**SALARY**:£20,000 - £25,000 per annum

**LOCATION**: Walton on Thames, Surrey

**JOB TYPE**: Full-Time, Permanent

**PLEASE NOTE**:Due to the nature of the role you will be visiting client sites and you will need a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.

**JOB OVERVIEW**

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Junior CAD Technicianwho has experience using AutoCAD with working knowledge of 2D drafting.

Working as the Junior CAD Technician you will be joining a recently set up Design Practice established to work alongside a well-respected Build company.

With an expanding portfolio of projects and growing demand for high quality designs this has created a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic Junior CAD Technicianto be a part of.

The Design Practice works on a variety of project types including property refurbishments, extensions, loft conversions and new builds for private residential clients and developers.

Working as the Junior CAD Technician you will join a close-knit team where you will be encouraged to develop your own professional goals.

The design studio is based in a welcoming and relaxed office, and you will be primarily assisting the Senior Architect across a wide variety of projects across all design stages.

Efficiency, good time management and communication skills are essential to making the role a success.

**DUTIES**
- Assisting with on-site surveys, taking or recording measurements
- Producing existing packs of drawings including plans, elevations, sections, site plans etc
- Conceiving and developing design concepts (plans and elevations) with input from Senior Architect
- Preparation of key design stage presentations
- Liaising with consultants and actioning / coordinating their input
- Production of detailed building regulation / construction drawings and specifications
- Liaising with the Design Team to ensure drawings are representative of the Engineer's designs
- Drawing reviews and checking schemes prepared by others in the team
- Ability or an eagerness to independently manage projects

**CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS**

**You will need**:

- Experience working with AutoCAD
- Ability to assist with site surveys
- Working knowledge of UK industry standards and processes
- Eligibility to work in the UK and a high standard of written English
- Good knowledge of MS office suite
- Driving License and own vehicle for attending surveys

**The following would be an advantage but not essential**:

- An understanding of InDesign
- Basic photoshop skills for editing
- Google Sketchup capable for 3D modelling and rendering
