Our Family Information Service, Education and Skills, previously known as Inclusion and Family Services, has two exciting opportunities to join our friendly team as an Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) Officers.

We are recruiting **one** **permanent IAG Officer** and the additional post will be **one year fixed-term contract to support refugee families.**

The successful applicants will have excellent communication and resourceful skills, outstanding customer services, along with a flexible and a proactive approach. You will be resilient, and a solution-focused professional, with an awareness of cultural sensitivity/practices.

The IAG Officers will possess the ability to develop and maintain good partnerships, improve channels of communication, with an understanding of complex legislation.

Our prospective officers will support local families and professionals, by providing personalised information and signposting them to relevant support services, such as Early Help, social care, housing, health teams, family hubs, refugee services and other specialists as appropriate.

You will be educated to 3 A levels or an NVQ 3 (or equivalent experience), with previous experience of working with childcare and education services.

Some duties include:

- Providing targeted outreach support at relevant locations and events.
- Providing information, advice and assistance, and where necessary, a brokerage service, to families to help them find and access suitable childcare, including school and holiday care.
- To accompany families to meetings with schools, providers and other agency meetings when required in order to help them to understand and engage with appropriate services.
- Delivering a broad range of consistent, effective, responsive, and personalised information advice and guidance (IAG) to refugee families and their hosts. This will include undertaking targeted outreach activities within identified communities.
- Providing information, assistance, and signposting, on a range of issues relating to family life, including access to community food support and family and school holiday activities.
- Promoting the usage of, and signposting families to the Family Information Directory and the SEND Local Offer for information on local services.
- Working collaboratively with other BCP Council teams and professionals to support families.

The post holders will travel across the BCP area, attend meetings and some occasional evenings and Saturdays may be required. Access to a car and driving licence would be an advantage.
