Senior Surfacing Supervisor

*Location - East Scotland (Clatchard base)*

Breedon Surfacing Solutions provide a wide range of asphalt surfacing contracting services across the UK, delivering a comprehensive asphalt surfacing solution for the construction and maintenance of public highways; infrastructure; residential and industrial developments and minor works. Our client base ranges from domestic and commercial clients to large contractors, local authorities and government bodies.

The Senior Surfacing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the effective allocation of resources within the programming planning of contracts. This role is responsible for the operations in the East Scotland Area.

*Role *
- Manage & comply with all HSQE requirements
- Profit & loss accountability of contacts
- Manage site operations to maximise operational effectiveness and efficiency at all times by understanding how a contract has been priced. Agree and review with the supervisor & foreman the gang targets to maximise profitability.
- Quality Management and control of all contracts
- Efficient allocation of resources, plant staff and subcontractors to ensure delivery of contracts.
- Work closely with internal and external suppliers to reduce delays and costs incurred through delivery patterns
- Effective relationships with the client - Agree a programme to completion with the client and regularly provide updates to ensure a positive working relationship. Ensure daily material programme is placed as early as possible each day with appropriate persons to allow daily surfacing programmes to be planned efficiently.
- Identify and communicate the development needs of individuals and update the training plans via regular review sessions
- Communicate and implement all initiatives to deliver regional targets

*Requirements *
- Third-level qualification in a construction-related discipline, an equivalent NVQ level V qualification.
- Note : A suitable basic level of education together with demonstrative experience may also be acceptable
- Experience in the supervision of surfacing or highway maintenance-related works
- Ability to effectively plan works and manage a number of sites or activities concurrently .
- Ability to be adaptable and remain effective in changing environments, situations and problems
- Familiarity with construction materials, (preferably asphalts), mobile plant and works methods.
- Ability to identify and solve problems and to be able to seek assistance when required to deliver practical and innovative solutions
- CSCS card and driving licence would be essential
