**Job Title: HR Advisor**

**Contract: Permanent**

**Hours: Full time (36.25 hours), Monday to Friday (Flexible start and finish times)**

**Location: Shirley, this role is office based**

**Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 per annum**

**Duties include**:
**Advisory and operational activities include -**
- Taking a proactive approach to identify employee related issues such as performance, conduct and absence providing timely and pragmatic interventions.
- Supporting the company within the HR team with operational activities to develop and build a productive HR service.
- Utilising experience in employee relations to ensure HR matters are handled promptly, fairly, and consistently in line with legal and company requirement.
- Providing consistent and accurate HR guidance, support and expertise to managers and employees in line with policy, practice, and legislation
- Analysing data and reporting to highlight trends, issues and to support business decisions.

**General HR Support responsibilities include -**
- Providing first level advice on all people related matters and supporting disciplinary, grievance and appeal meetings. Advise managers on sickness absence issues including long term sick absence meetings
- Escalation of complex queries as appropriate
- Supporting Talent Acquisition Manager with recruitment including reviewing and updating job descriptions
- Coordinating the induction process for successful applicants/new starters including relevant paperwork
- Responding to high volume queries and case management
- Training/upskilling line managers e.g., absence management, performance management
- Using HR information systems to access, input and compile data and carry out audits including new starters/ leavers and sickness absence
- reporting and analysing (in conjunction with the payroll department), headcount, Right to Work in UK, personal details etc.
- Ownership of the probationary review process
- Working alongside HR Manager on succession/talent planning and identifying development needs
- Suggesting new HR working solutions to improve day-to-day operations.
- Administration and facilitation of training records with line management
- Managing staff relationships, responding to any queries or problems that they have and managing their expectations.
- Monitoring, reviewing and updating all HR policies and terms and conditions in-conjunction with HR Manager and ensuring these are in line with current legislation.
- Delivering the people employee engagement, talent management and working with the HR Manager on succession planning
- Support EDI and share best practice with regional businesses.
- Working with the team on wellbeing strategies and supporting divisional activities and intervention

**Skills and experience required**:

- Experience in a similar role with CIPD L3 (or equivalent)
- Personable with excellent communication skills across all levels of the business
- Practical and logical with excellent planning and problem-solving skills
- Able to work under pressure and to deadlines Organised and possesses high levels of attention to detail.
- Ability to perform under own initiative and as part of a team.
- Professional and positive approach
- Ability to quickly build and maintain positive working relationships.
- IT literate/ proven Microsoft Office experience
- Ability to produce and interpret management information reports.
- Maintain discretion when working with HR and employee relations issues.
- Excellent verbal and written skills (as the ability to complete paperwork is essential).
- Able to quickly learn and identify possible improvements to the work carried within the HR Department.
