As a Junior Occupational Therapist from the NHS or private sector, you'll join the team at The Dean Neurological Centre working 37.5 hours as part of the multidisciplinary team providing senior clinical support to the MDT and delivering training to directreports.

You will have experience in managing a designated caseload using theoretical and practical experience, completing assessments, planning, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes aligned to care plans.

**What you will be doing**
- Working effectively as part of a team in the delivery of therapeutic interventions, (both 1:1s and group work), planned with the support and supervision of OTs.
- Contributing to the assessment, monitoring, evaluation and modification of therapeutic interventions in order to measure progress and ensure effectiveness.
- Devising and managing a balanced therapy timetable to support patient interventions under supervision of OT.
- Facilitating community trips with the service users.
- Keeping concise and informative records of sessions and assessments through Carenotes/OT documents in line with department requirements.
- Providing a motivational approach to support patients to improve their independence and quality of life.
- Participating in the relevant induction, training and education of students and other staff.

You'll be supported by a team of colleagues ready to lend a hand and work together to a common goal. No two days are the same, with plenty to keep you engaged and motivated, but also a good amount of routine.

**To be successful in this role, you will have**:

- Current HPC registration and BAOT membership
- Experience of working within a similar setting
- Full driver's license and 1 years' driving experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- To be able to work as part of a team
- To have the ability to work with and engage patients in a range of activities
- An interest and/or experience in recreational and vocational activities, such as music, art, sports, education and cooking would be advantageous but is not essential

**Where you will be working**

The Dean Neurological Centre has 60 beds in Gloucester (GL2 9EE), which is on the outskirts of the town within easy commute from Gloucester, Cheltenham and surrounding villages.

The Centre delivers specialist 24-hour nursing and therapy services for people with complex long-term neurological conditions who require ongoing support and assistance to maximise functional ability.

It specialises in slow stream rehabilitation where the emphasis is placed on maximising each individual's abilities, comfort and quality of life.

Bedrooms are fitted with high dependency equipment, including ceiling track hoists, wall mounted suction and oxygen equipment., with all rooms adapted to individual requirements. There are also well-equipped therapy facilities and other facilities such asgardens, gym and minibus.
