Depending on the kind of work you'd like to do, you could work in one of two locations: - King George Hospital in Goodmayes, Ilford - Queen’s Hospital in Romford Both hospitals provide a wide range of acute hospital services including: Emergency Department (A&E), outpatients, surgery, inpatient medical care and critical care. Together both hospitals have more than 1,000 inpatient beds. Our Trust works in partnership with the Virginia Mason Institute (VMI) based in Seattle. It is one of only five hospital Trusts in the UK to have this arrangement. The Virginia Mason Institute is known for helping healthcare organisations around the world to create and sustain a ‘lean’ culture of continuous improvement which puts patients first.

**Your duties will include**:

- Dispensing medication for Inpatients and Outpatients.
- Dispensing Controlled Drugs
- Stock management including receiving and checking orders, checking expiry dates and general housekeeping duties within the dispensary.
- Reception duties including receiving prescriptions
- Ward Stock Top Ups.

You must hold a Level 2 NVQ/BTEC or equivalent qualification in Pharmacy Services and 4 GSCEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English & Science, or be willing to undertake the Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship and meet the eligibility requirements for apprenticeship funding.

You must be hard working, methodical and accurate, flexible & have a good attendance record. Experience of working with computers and the general public is essential.

Queen’s Hospital provides full 7-day working and this post will involve some late, weekend and Bank Holiday shifts.

Under the leadership of our Chair, Jacqui Smith and Matthew Trainer, our Chief Executive we provide care for the residents of three diverse London boroughs. More than half of our 7,500 strong workforce are from black, Asian and minority ethnic groups and most live in Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge. We also provide healthcare services to people in south west Essex, and specialist neurosciences services to the whole of the county.

Our services include all the major specialties of large acute hospitals, operating from two main sites - King George Hospital in Goodmayes and Queen’s Hospital in Romford. We also provide outpatient services at Brentwood Community Hospital, Barking Hospital, Loxford Polyclinic and Harold Wood Polyclinic.

As we recover from Covid-19, we’re proud to be leading the way in reducing the time our patients wait to get the treatment they need. The pandemic provided the drive for our teams to innovate and change.
