**Maintenance Engineer**

Location: Henstridge

Hours: 10pm - 6am, 40 hours per week, Sunday to Thursday

**Salary**: £40,000 - £45,000 depending on experience (overtime paid at time and a half)
- Multi-skilled engineer working within a team to inspect, fault find and repair production machinery and company facilities to maintain an efficient, productive and safe site. _

**Experience Required**:

- Good mechanical experience and electrical skills with hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge. Knowledge of various mechanical drive arrangements.
- Good mechanical and electrical skills.
- Pneumatic and Hydraulic knowledge, along with PLC, inverter, instrumentation and control experience.
- Knowledge of various mechanical drive arrangements, including simplex, duplex, chain, belt, gearboxes and transmission equipment is required.
- You must hold a valid UK driving license and have experience in a heavy industrial environment.
- A forklift and MEWP licence would be desirable but not essential.
- In house fabrication, maintenance including welding (mma, mag & mig), flame cutting, plasma cutting. Handling power tools including, but not limited to, abrasive wheels, plasma cutter, mag drills and punch

**Qualifications**:

- City and Guilds/NVQ3/HNC/ in electrical mechanical

**Duties**:

- Performing preventative maintenance routines and condition monitoring of production machinery and facilities as per the inspection schedules. Maintaining accurate records of findings and works carried out
- Liaising closely with the Maintenance Supervisor and operations staff in all aspects to ensure efficient, effective and planned reactive maintenance at all times
- Making safety inspections of tools and equipment
- Diagnosing faults and repairing machines in a safe manner to minimise downtime and cost
- Anticipating machine failures and making such changes or recommendations to prevent re-occurrence and to minimise downtime
- Working to improve reliability and productivity of equipment
- Completing written records of all maintenance activities
- Carrying out maintenance tasks diligently and in good time using appropriate methodology
- Being proactive in identifying and carrying out potential machine upgrades to improve lifespan, efficiency, productivity or safety of the machine and communicating these to the management team for consideration
