National Grid Ventures are looking to recruit an Environmental Advisor to support the Environment and Sustainability Senior Manager in implementing group wide environmental policy and strategy.

**Key activities**:

- Develop and prepare meaningful KPIs, reporting tools and monthly performance reports for environmental incidents and operations and environmental data analysis
- Develop best practice for environmental protection and enhancement
- Develop appropriate communications and undertake horizon scanning to ensure the business is informed of changes to environmental legislation, procedures and best practice
- Develop new environmental process and procedures, training and bulletins and good practices
- Promoting a positive culture through visible proactive, consistent and influential behaviours
- Keep the company safe by cooperating with others to ensure a coordinated approach to promote a clear understanding of each party’s duties, roles and responsibilities for Safety and Wellbeing
- Report and investigating incidents, near misses, hazards, acting as necessary to control hazard as appropriate
- Provide assistance and expertise for the business to investigation and develop corrective actions environmental incidents

**About you**:

- Good knowledge of environmental legislation, environmental management systems
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability and confidence to communicate and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
- Passion for environmental sustainability, with high levels of enthusiasm and drive to achieve results
- Team working, committed to performance improvement
- Experience of working with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders preferable
