**Job Summary**

Our client’s service team works on-site at client’s facilities throughout the UK and Ireland performing planned and reactive work to ensure production equipment is in safe, efficient working order with mínimal downtime. Additional tasks are undertaken inthe workshop within head office.

This role reports directly to the Service Manager.

**The Role**

The Specialist Pump Service Engineer is a lead role in supporting the technical needs of our customers, dealing with diverse industries and products in this varied role. The customers served by us require production equipment to be in safe, efficient workingorder and running with the mínimal amount of downtime.

**Responsibilities**
- Carry out corrective and preventative mechanical maintenance and repair of pumps.
- Where skilled to do so, carry out corrective and preventative mechanical maintenance and repair of processing equipment such as homogenisers, valves, heat exchangers and fillers.
- Work alongside the other service engineers as part of the service team.
- Diagnosing mechanical system failures using established procedures and information.
- Keep the customer’s equipment and production running.
- Planned maintenance and service visits to customer sites.
- Reactive attendance where customers have a breakdown as and when required.
- Accurate and timely completion of all defined service documentation.
- Dealing with customer questions on-site and giving professional guidance and reassurance.
- Workshop duties as and when required including, mechanical repairs of the products we support.
- Identification of opportunities to provide products and / or services to customers.
- Support the planning and execution of technical projects as and when required.
- Work alongside appropriate sub-contractors to complete site work and ensure they are adhering to the AFH code of practice. Page 2 of 2 V1 - 24.11.22
- Devise technical training programmes to support organisation requirements.
- Encourage a can-do attitude throughout the team, going the extra mile to leave our customers delighted.
- Assisting the Service Co-ordinators with technical information as required. This list is not exhaustive, and you will be asked to carry out other tasks as determined by demand or the Directors.

This job is a mobile role meaning you can work in multiple locations throughout the UK and Ireland. It involves some weekend work and longer working days if the task demands it.

**The Person and Skills**
- Relevant industry experience in a process equipment environment.
- A Mechanical Engineering qualification is ideal although you will be supported by your trained colleagues with on-the-job training along with externally provided formal training.
- Willing to work weekends and away from home.
- Friendly and reassuring and able to build relationships with customers and your colleagues.
- Interested in personal development.
- Full, clean driving licence.
