**Year In Industry Placement Student - Highway Infrastructure Services**

Are you currently studying at university and keen to enhance your academic studies with some fantastic workplace experience working on real-life projects within the highways and construction industry? One of our Year in Industry Placements could be just the role for you

Via are currently recruiting for someone to join our Highway Infrastructure Services team based in West Bridgford in Nottinghamshire, but working county-wide, in September 2023.

**About the role**:
Highways Infrastructure, such as signals and lighting, is essential to ensure we provide safe access to hospitals, schools, businesses etc and is paramount for public safety. We work on the preservation and keeping of carriageways, footways and other highway features such as these.

Our placements offer first-hand experience working on highways projects. You could be working on major projects and improvements, on carriageway and footway schemes or pedestrian crossing schemes. You’ll get the chance to experience site meetings, surveys, the design stage and be involved in ensuring and maintaining quality documentation.

You’ll work alongside experienced engineers, electricians and design professionals and learn first-hand from our industry experts. Placement students will be able to undertake placements linked to their professional development and we will actively support you in gaining experience for you to use as evidence. Our placement opportunity will be very beneficial for your final year of university too

Following the completion of your placement, if you perform well and impress, and you enjoy your time with us, there may also be the opportunity to ‘fast-track’ on to our graduate scheme once you finish your degree

Our Year in Industry placements are only open to those currently studying (i.e. students who will be returning to university following the completion of the placement year).

We’re looking for students who have a keen interest in Highways and Construction and want to develop some great experience within the sector.

We look for those studying toward degrees in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Design or similar.
