**JOB TITLE: PRINCIPAL GEOSCIENTIST**

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Responsible for performing all duties with due regard to the health and safety of themselves, others and of the environment in which they are undertaken.
- Provide G&G support for reservoir description and static modelling, ensuring that models stay current and up-to-date with latest seismic interpretation and well tops.
- Provide high-quality geological input for development projects and ongoing field operations.
- Review and verify legacy reservoir data and models.
- Provide technical recommendations on how future reservoir modelling will be carried out.
- Manage reservoir geological and seismic studies conducted by consultants and third-party contractors.
- Work closely with reservoir engineers to ensure reservoir models are fit for purpose and to evaluate development options, including infill drilling and changes in exploitation strategy or recovery mechanisms.
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary subsurface team to assess incremental production and reserve the potential of identified opportunities.
- Generate drilling prospects, plan wells, and evaluate well results.
- Provide reservoir and subsurface data for the annual field report and reserve reporting process.
- Identify key risks and uncertainties associated with development options, quantify their impact, and provide input for comprehensive risk assessment and mitigation actions.
- Mobilize to client’s office or drilling site, when appropriate, abroad or in country, to support team and activities.
- Work with and provide mentor support to personnel as part of Technical Services Contract requirements.
- Supervised subsurface-based design projects for well abandonment.
- Generate plumbing diagrams for well abandonment. Propose cap rocks for plugging and revise / update pressure plots
- Collaborate with Drilling and Decommissioning team to identify well-abandoned risks and opportunities
- Fit for purpose and up-to-date static reservoir models.
- Prepare detailed well plans for infill drilling and support the end-of-well reporting process.
- Concise reports for all studies and maintain organised records of input and interpreted data.

**ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS**:

- Degree-qualified or with significant experience working in the oil and gas industry or similar industry in a similar position.
- Must be able to demonstrate continuing personal and professional development. Professional membership, as applicable, is supported.
- Strong drive to learn and develop own abilities and be able to work independently but seek guidance when needed.
- Strong personal values and willing to take clear personal accountability for actions.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication and presentation skills. This requires the ability to articulate in a clear, concise, and constructive manner at the appropriate level for the intended audience.
- Produces work of accurate and presentable quality in the appropriate formats.
- Good organizational skills, SMART working methods and can demonstrate personal effectiveness in previous roles.
- Comfortable working in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams and various parts of the organization and service lines.
- Self-motivated and able to deliver in a goal-oriented working environment.
- Excellent technical background in petroleum geology
- Excellent knowledge of geomodelling and ability to build and use geological models.
- Working knowledge of the theoretical and practical aspects of production engineering and well-serviced.
- Knowledge of sand face and upper completion design; sand control (e.g. OHGP); cased and perforated; standard, artificial lift completions, etc.
- Knowledge of well-intervention equipment and well-service operations.
- Able to produce high-quality written work and formal presentations that match the identified requirements.
