**Job Title**: Helpdesk Assistant (Student only Role)

**Location**:York University Student Union (YUSU)

**Reporting to**: Helpdesk Supervisors & Student Experience Development Coordinator

**Salary**:£10.90 per hour

**Working pattern**:Minimum 6 hours per week / 8 hours during core/busy periods during term time (semesters), zero hours during vacation weeks. Fixed term until June 2024.

**Closing date**: Sunday 4th February 2024 at 5pm.

Here at YUSU (York University Students Union) we have an exciting job opportunity for someone to join our Helpdesk team as the Helpdesk Assistant.

**About the Role**:
We are looking for a student to work alongside our existing team of Helpdesk Assistants to promote all that we have to offer students at University of York Student Union. You will help to make the SU Helpdesk an easily accessible place where students come for guidance, support and connection.

Reporting to the Helpdesk Coordinator you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to students, staff and external visitors, giving them a really positive experience of the Student Union from the minute they arrive.

In this role you will be responsible for:

- Providing a warm welcome and genuine interest in helping all those that come into the Student Centre and contact us digitally.
- Signposting students based on their individual needs and interests
- Administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of our sports clubs and societies

You’ll have:

- A positive, can do attitude that inspires the people around you
- Fantastic communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with a variety of software and systems
- Desire to delivering a high quality service in a customer facing role
