SN-Group is a multi-disciplined engineering company operating in the defence and energy sectors.

Our manufacturing division is looking to recruit additional QC Inspectors to support its activities in the south Cumbria area. The roles will be based at the group’s manufacturing facilities at Barrow-in-Furness, but may require travel to other group sites, as well as customer facilities if/when required.

The work requires an understanding of technical specifications and engineering drawings, as well as knowledge of fabrication, machining and industrial coating processes. The ability to use manual dimensional measuring equipment (verniers, micrometers) is a prerequisite, with experience of laser measurement systems being an advantage.

Key responsibilities of this role will be:

- Performing verification checks at various stages of the production process.
- Acting as product release authority prior to dispatch to customer.
- Technical appraisal of customer requirements leading to pass/fail or concession request decisions.
- Raising of non-conformities to support continual quality improvement.
- ‘Goods in’ inspection ensuring that incoming material meets purchase order specification.
- Management of calibrated equipment inventory relevant to QC role (pre-use and monthly conformance checks, as well as UKAS laboratory calibrations on agreed periodicities).

Sector specific training will be provided, ensuring that you have the confidence to make decisions as required of your new role. You will work within the QHSE department and report to the group’s Quality Manager.

**Salary**: £15.00-£18.00 per hour

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
