**Job description**

**Hours**: 20 hours per week (across 3 days) (2 x 8 hour shifts, 1 x 4 hour shift)

**Location**: Garage Coffee Roasters, 17 Sun Street, Canterbury, Kent, CT1 2HX

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Working alongside the shop manager to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the shop. This will include developing coffee skills within the team, ordering, stock rotation and housekeeping standards.
- Lead shifts and give instruction to the team to ensure the smooth running of the shop
- Deputising for the shop manager on operational tasks eg. ordering, stock rotation, cleaning duties.
- Delivering great customer service & inspire those around you
- Share Garage Coffee’s mission & vision with customers and staff
- Adhering to any health and safety requirements and maintaining a clean and tidy coffee shop at all times
- Run trial shifts to support shop manager with recruitment of new starters
- Learn to communicate and delegate effectively to other members of staff, to ensure smooth day to day running of the shop
- Demonstrate passion for coffee taking a lead in making sure staff are always consistent in their coffee standards
- Effectively communicating with upline, making sure issues and queries are dealt with efficiently

**What you need
- the must haves**:

- At least 12 months experience in a hospitality/customer-facing role
- Be keen to lead and inspire those around them
- Be enthusiastic, adaptable and show you are ready to take on management responsibilities
- Great communication skills with a ‘can-do’ team attitude
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise and think critically
