Blocks Operative

**JOB PURPOSE**

The safe and efficient use of machinery to produce, store and load concrete products ready for delivery to the customer

**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- This is an important role within Maen Karne, with primary responsibility to:

- Contribute to the delivery of an efficient and professional service focussed on continual improvement and development of systems, processes and customer services.
- Timely production of concrete products for delivery to customers.
- Undertaking any of the tasks associated with concrete product production in preparation for delivery to customers, including but not limited to operating semi-automatic block plant, basic maintenance, labelling and strapping, driving mobile plant so far as training and competence allows.
- Ensuring that the block plant and associated stock yard area and machinery is kept clean, safe and uncluttered and appropriately maintained.

****GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- To work within and actively support the equality and diversity policies and practices of Maen Karne.
- To notify a more senior member of staff of any errors or concerns at the earliest opportunity, including quality concerns and/or safety “near misses”.
- To participate in the annual Performance Management and Review process.
- To ensure that Maen Karne’s principles of customer service, teamwork, equality and diversity and sustainability influence all activity related to the role.
- To ensure communications systems and practices support effective management arrangements and promote good relations with staff, suppliers and customers.
- To comply with all Maen Karne systems and procedures.
- To identify any areas where you feel further training or development may be required and to raise such areas your supervisor.
- To undertake other duties not specifically stated above, which from time to time are necessary for the effective performance of Maen Karne’s business without altering the nature or level of responsibility involved
