Accounts Payable Assistant

We are delighted to be working in partnership with an Award-Winning Independent Organisation, located in the idyllic area of rural Lanarkshire. Due to expansion across the business, we have a requirement for an experienced Finance Assistant to join the team in a full-time, permanent position.
The Accounts Payable/Finance Assistant provides support to the success of the business through assisting with day-to-day financial operations. This includes data entry, processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and generating financial reports. The Finance Assistant works closely with other members of the finance team and the wider business to ensure accurate and timely financial recordkeeping. This is a varied role with opportunities to progress.
**Role Responsibilities**:
- Processing purchase invoices and other financial documents and data into accounting software.
- Maintaining an efficient accounts payable processes, including invoice approvals and preparation of payment runs.
- Reviewing and processing expense and credit card claims on WebExpenses, ensuring compliance with company guidelines.
- Communicating with suppliers and colleagues in relation to payment and invoicing inquiries.
- Reconciling bank statements with internal records to ensure accuracy of financial transactions.
- Preparation of VAT returns.
- Compiling data and generating periodic financial summaries for review including utilisation reports for banks. Preparation of actual cashflow reports.

**Knowledge & Experience**
- Prior experience in a similar accounts payable or bookkeeping role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, Quickbooks).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial recordkeeping.
It goes without saying that you will be highly organised with good time management skills and have the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team.

**Salary**: £23,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
