**Apprentice Logistics & Compliance**

We at JBT are searching for our latest Apprentice to join our growing team within Livingston. Currently we have a vacancy for a
**Logistics & Compliance Apprentice.**

The **Logistics & Compliance Apprentice** role will be varied, where you will learn all aspects of our warehouse and stock management as well as the logistics of processing and shipping orders worldwide When working in the warehouse, it is essential to be aware of the health and safety procedures. **‘Safety First’** is our ethos and culture and part of our core values at JBT. On the compliance side of the **Logistics & Compliance Apprentice **position you will be trained on supporting customer requirements, both internal and external, on the safe and efficient transport of cargo effectively and in accordance with company operational procedures and statutory requirements.

As part of the **Logistics & Compliance Apprentice **program, you will undertake the Institute of Supply Chain Management courses.

**Responsibilities**:
Key Tasks of the **Logistics & Compliance Apprentice**
- You will be given training and support to enable you to be fully proficient in the below:_
- Import & Export Controls
- HS Commodity Codes
- Customs Invoices
- Certificates of Origin
- Online Courier Portal
- Road, Air & Sea Collections & Deliveries
- Receive jobs, review for accuracy & allocate to service providers.
- Ensure legislative compliance in all areas including customs declarations.
- Validate shipment routing against operating procedures and guidelines (exports).
- Arrange collection from carriers and onward delivery to customer (imports) & monitor proof of delivery.
- Ensure that the company operates within all agreed operational procedures, and within statutory requirements including the provision and maintenance of a safe working environment.
- Communicate efficiently and effectively (via use of PC's, fax machines, telephone, etc.) with internal and external customers, suppliers, and other offices, as required by operational procedures.
- In conjunction with others, plan collection or deliveries.
- Liaise with external suppliers to monitor job progress
- Irregularity handling and escalation as appropriate to next level (Team Leader or Manager)

What we are looking for in a **Logistics & Compliance Apprentice -**
- Hold a minimum of 4 National 5’s (or equivalent) or above such as Maths, English, Science or Technical Studies and/or a relevant NC qualification.
- Excellent Problem Solving, Planning and Organising skills
- Strong IT skills when using a variety of Microsoft Packages
- Excellent Communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure using own initiative
- Friendly and positive attitude

Qualifications:
As an Apprentice you will be regularly reviewed within your role and qualification development, you will receive monthly tutor sessions and regular course work. All apprentices are guided by an experienced member of staff who will be your mentor throughout your apprenticeship.

The role will be 38 hours per week **Monday-Thursday 0600-1600**, with a starting hourly rate of **£9.50**.
