**Town Head Estate Limited is a family owned wedding venue on the shores of Lake Windermere with extensive gardens and grounds. We are looking for a enthusiastic, knowledgeable and experienced individual to take up a full time, year round position.**

The gardens and grounds at Town Head have been redeveloped and re-landscaped in 2020, and now form one of the key features of the venue. As a wedding venue it is vital that the gardens are immaculately presented at all times, whilst also offering colour and interest for every season. We have a large glass house which has been brought back into operation, giving much opportunity for developing planting schemes, and there are additional opportunities to be creative and develop additional areas with hard and soft landscaping.

**Duties would include the following**:

- Creating and developing planting schemes
- Identifying opportunities for replanting and areas for development.
- Developing the greenhouse to plan for future seasons
- Planting and maintenance
- Lawn care and mowing
- Edging
- Weed control
- Blowing leaves
- Pruning trees and strimming hedges
- Maintaining footpaths
- Working with power tools and driving estate vehicles
- Following all health and safety regulations
- Some chainsaw and forestry work (training will be given where necessary)

This role will suit a hands-on professional gardener with proven experience of working as part of a small team and taking responsibility for the maintenance and development of an extensive garden to a very high standard.

This role would suit someone looking for a long-term position with a passion to create, develop and maintain some of the most beautiful grounds in the Lake District.

**Salary**: £27,000.00-£30,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm
- Days and times can be flexible to a degree provided core hours are achieved.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Town Head is not on a public transport route, and there may be occasions where driving is required. As such a full clean driving licence is required.
