Due to continued growth and expansion, we are currently looking to recruit two transport planners to join a busy multi drop logistics business in Pocklington on a permanent basis. The expected salary is £29,500 Overtime will be available during busy periods and for holiday cover.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

As a transport planner you will be responsible for the planning and monitoring of the company fleet of delivery vehicles ensuring all deliveries are planned out in the most efficient manner to maximise customer service and minimise cost to the company. You will report to the National Routing Manager and escalate issues Responsibilities include: -- Supervise and route all relevant customer deliveries for 2-3 depots on multiple cycles, utilising the companies bespoke systems to ensure delivery windows are met.
- Supervise and route vehicles as close to maximum capacity and within customer time parameters as possible ensuring maximum efficiency of each run.
- Prioritise customer deliveries when required and where possible.
- Organise additional vehicle and driver resource in busy periods.
- Maintain the system back office, updating customer delivery hours and creating/streamlining routes.
- All relevant documents and driver packs are completed and printed on time and in full.
- Monitor driver progress and update transport managers where necessary.
- Keep up to date on all changes to legislation and COVID restrictions to ensure business and driver compliance.
- Monitor routes and timings to ensure the most cost-effective routes are taken and journey times are not exceeded.
- To appropriately challenge any discrepancies in journey times and routes.
- Ensure all loads meet safety standards.
- Communicate routes schedules to other depots within agreed timescales
- Identifying operational issues and implementing opportunities for change
- In discussion with the relevant transport managers, ensuring company compliance to all transport policies, legislation and procedures.
**Experience and Skills**:

- Experience of working in a transport office
- Knowledge of Drivers Hours, tachograph and WTD legislation
- Experience of Routing Planning/Route Planner within a multi-drop environment
**Shifts Available**:

- Sun - Wed (09:30 - 20:00)
- 40 hours per week (with 30 mins unpaid break)
